HOKKAIDO (GALLERY 2)
Nov/Dec 1996 happened to be the low tourist season to visit Hokkaido because of the cold weather, which unfortunately, did not produce enough snow fall to start off the ski season. In fact, some parts of Hokkaido looked really bleak and deserted. Everything was like in monochrome.
Lake Shikotsu at the Shikotsu National Park, located between Hakodate and Sapporo. This lake measures about 41km in circumference and is abt 363m deep. | ||
Another view of Lake Shikotsu. It was said that there were bears in this national park. To avoid springing a surprise on them, I took the locals' advice to whistle while cycling. It was a funny feeling. | ||
